Assistant Manager – Travel Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Travel Operations will oversee ticketing activities for global destinations, ensuring optimal fare negotiation and profitability. Based in Mumbai, this role requires a proactive approach to managing group bookings, cancellations, and last‑minute changes while maintaining strong relationships with airline partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily ticketing operations, including fresh tickets, reissues, rerouting, no‑shows, changes, and cancellations.
• Negotiate the lowest possible fares within internal budgets for ad‑hoc and yearly group blocks.
• Track deposits and final payments for group bookings to ensure timely settlement.
• Maintain and share profitability reports versus budget on a daily basis.
• Update profitability sheets for domestic tickets and ensure accurate cost tracking.
• Resolve urgent last‑minute changes and cancellations at minimum cost.
• Collaborate with tour managers to optimise itineraries and reduce internal travel costs.
• Continuously compare fares with online portals and airline websites to secure the best rates.
• Build and maintain relationships with airline partners to obtain favourable terms, waivers, and services.
• Reconcile ticketing data with finance for principal air reconciliation requirements.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of end‑to‑end ticketing experience.
• Hands‑on experience with airline reservations and bookings.
• Proficiency in a Global Distribution System (GDS), specifically Amadeus.
• Strong knowledge of airline fare structures and policies.
• Effective communication skills.
