Assistant Manager - Risk Containment Unit

About the role

The Risk Containment Unit (RCU) at Bajaj Finance is looking for an Assistant Manager to lead daily fraud monitoring, investigation and reporting. You will work closely with senior management and field teams to minimise fraud exposure and protect portfolio health.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse suspect transactions and generate timely reports for senior management.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of fraud and dispute cases, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
• Own the end‑to‑end RCU process, ensuring case closure within defined TAT and maintaining high‑quality investigation reports.
• Coordinate with field RCU managers (rural and urban) to track investigations and support field teams with relevant triggers.
• Drive continuous improvement of fraud‑catch rates by collaborating with central back‑end teams and overseeing automation projects.
• Maintain error‑free dashboards and propose credit‑policy changes where needed.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in fraud monitoring or risk management.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver accurate reports.
• Excellent coordination skills to liaise with internal teams such as Risk, Customer Service, Product, Sales and external vendors.
• Proactive attitude towards process improvement and technology adoption.
