Assistant Manager Retail Business Development

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Retail Business Development will support the growth of Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands’ retail footprint across India. Reporting to senior leadership, the role focuses on identifying, planning and launching new store locations while ensuring profitability and alignment with brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create budgeted retail space plans that meet brand requirements and convert line‑of‑sight properties in malls or high‑street locations into operational stores.
• Continuously update market‑mapping data to spot expansion opportunities and plan timely market entry for cost and competitive advantage.
• Negotiate favourable terms with landlords and mall developers to secure the right location, size and cost.
• Forecast future retail spaces in potential markets, monitor competition and maintain a pipeline of qualified sites.
• Maintain relationships with owners of commercial properties and shortlist potential sites based on current and projected needs.
• Develop and sustain a strong network of existing and new franchise partners.
• Learn and apply internal processes and systems related to retail business development, establishing trackers for daily updates and regular reviews.

Required profile

• Experience in retail space planning, market analysis and landlord negotiations.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical mindset with focus on profitability and strategic expansion.
