Assistant Manager People and Culture

About the role

The Assistant Manager People & Culture supports a harmonious employee‑management climate at Pullman Chennai Anna Salai. You will drive employee welfare initiatives, manage staff grievances, and ensure compliance with all legal and hotel policies while promoting a productive workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a positive employee‑management relationship and oversee staff welfare activities such as sports, outings, and transportation.
• Handle staff grievances promptly and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of hotel services and maximize technology use to improve productivity.
• Ensure all People & Culture practices comply with legal regulations, hotel policies, and the Operations Manual.
• Maintain accurate statutory records and complete legal returns (ESI, PF, Apprenticeship Act, contract labour, employment exchange, etc.).
• Coordinate with department heads to enforce company rules and policies.
• Oversee employee exit procedures and ensure proper check‑out processes.
• Manage recruitment and selection, maintain internal/external candidate databases, and fill vacancies within two weeks.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Director of Talent & Culture and keep the workplace clean and organized.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Hotel Management.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in HR management.
• Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance and employee relations.
