Assistant Manager – Housekeeping

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Housekeeping supports the Housekeeping Manager in delivering the high‑end cleanliness and comfort standards expected at Fairmont Mumbai. You will oversee guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces, ensuring they consistently reflect the brand’s luxury image and exceed guest expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in day‑to‑day management of the Housekeeping department, coordinating with Front Office, Engineering and Laundry teams.
• Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, suites, public areas and service zones to verify compliance with Fairmont standards.
• Monitor room status and occupancy to optimise operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Address guest requests, concerns and service recovery situations promptly and professionally.
• Supervise, mentor and motivate housekeeping staff, delivering daily briefings, training and performance coaching.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and talent development initiatives.
• Uphold grooming, appearance and luxury service standards for the team.
• Ensure cost‑effective operations while maintaining quality and brand standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housekeeping operations within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to brand standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
