Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

The position is responsible for managing daily mechanical maintenance operations with a team of maintenance personnel. The aim is to ensure machine and equipment availability, reliability, efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards for production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to resolve issues identified during inspections or troubleshooting.
• Prepare maintenance reports, plan spare‑parts procurement and track inventory.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators such as MTBF, MTTR, and PMI completion.
• Allocate maintenance tasks, inspections and preventive activities based on skill levels and workload.
• Plan regular equipment inspections and address potential wear or malfunction before escalation.
• Provide rapid response for troubleshooting and support TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives.
• Document and analyse maintenance activities, trends and equipment history to drive optimisation.

• Dynamic professional with a strong interest in mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a team of blue‑collar associates.
• Focus on achieving departmental SQCD targets and adhering to budget constraints.

Required skills

• Maintenance reporting and spare‑parts planning.
• Knowledge of KPI tracking (MTBF, MTTR, PMI).
• Troubleshooting and quick problem‑resolution capabilities.
• Experience with TPM activities and maintenance analysis.
