Assistant Manager – AI SEO (AEO)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – AI SEO will lead redBus’s AEO (AI Answer Engine Optimization) strategy, ensuring the brand is prominently featured in AI‑generated answers across major answer engines. This role combines traditional SEO expertise with emerging AI content requirements to drive visibility and bookings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an AEO strategy aligned with quarterly and annual business goals, defining KPIs such as AI answer visibility, brand mention share, and citation rates.
• Build and maintain a performance dashboard tracking redBus’s presence on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and similar platforms.
• Audit and optimise existing website, blog, documentation and learning pages for AI retrieval, implementing structured data, schema markup and answer‑ready formatting.
• Collaborate with content teams to create comparison pages, FAQ schemas, definitive guides and product narratives that attract AI citations.
• Define guidelines for RAG‑optimised content architecture, ensuring clear header hierarchies, summary blocks and definition‑first writing.
• Work with engineering to ensure site architecture, robots.txt directives, API endpoints and information architecture support AI crawlers and autonomous agents.
• Conduct regular technical SEO audits focused on AI readiness, crawlability, structured‑data integrity, content freshness and Core Web Vitals.
• Monitor and resolve technical issues that affect AI visibility, such as indexing gaps, stale content or broken structured data.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SEO or AI‑driven content optimisation, preferably within travel, OTA or e‑commerce environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to define, track and report on KPI performance.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work across content, product and engineering teams.
