About the role
KHOJ is seeking an Assistant Chef to join its kitchen team in Perintalmanna. You will support daily food preparation, cooking, and plating while ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, and hygiene.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients, cook menu items, and assist with plating and presentation.
- Follow standardized recipes, maintain portion control, and ensure timely service.
- Keep the kitchen clean and adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Assist with inventory checks, stock rotation, and basic ordering support.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and team to test new recipes and improve dishes.
Required profile
- Strong foundational cooking skills with basic knife work and ingredient preparation.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in taste and texture.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Capacity to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and manage time during peak hours.
- Effective teamwork and communication with chefs, servers, and kitchen staff.
- Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and adapt to changing menus.
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen or culinary training is preferred but not mandatory.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
