Artificial Intelligence Lead – Innovation Centre

About the role

Airbus Innovation Centre India & South Asia is seeking an experienced Artificial Intelligence Lead to head a team of data scientists and analysts. You will drive the creation of cutting‑edge AI solutions for aviation, focusing on large language models, computer vision and open‑source machine learning frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to design, develop and deploy AI‑driven products for the aviation industry.
• Collaborate with engineers, domain experts and product managers to define project goals, scope and technical requirements.
• Provide technical leadership in selecting, implementing and optimizing machine‑learning models, especially LLMs and computer‑vision solutions.
• Develop AI models for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection and operational optimisation.
• Apply system‑engineering principles to ensure AI solutions integrate safely and comply with aviation regulations.
• Mentor team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay current with AI advancements and identify opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies.

Required profile

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 7 years focused on AI development.
• Proven track record of leading teams that deliver AI products to production.
• Deep understanding of system‑engineering concepts applied to complex aviation projects.
• Extensive experience designing, training and optimizing AI models using diverse machine‑learning techniques.
