Area Sales Manager – Home Improvement

About the role

3M is seeking an Area Sales Manager for its Home Improvement portfolio in Maharashtra. The role will lead distribution expansion, retailer activation and sales growth across hardware, paint, electrical, sanitary, plywood and building‑material channels.

Key responsibilities

• Appoint and manage distributors and super‑stockists, ensuring appropriate investment, infrastructure and service levels.
• Monitor ROI, claims and financial settlements in line with 3M policies.
• Expand product availability by identifying white‑space opportunities and onboarding new retailers.
• Drive secondary sales through retailer engagement programmes, merchandising and in‑store visibility.
• Conduct retailer visits, educate on product applications and foster recommendation selling.
• Oversee distributor inventory, stock replenishment and billing productivity.
• Deploy POSM, conduct product demonstrations, local activations and new‑product launches.
• Gather market intelligence and track competitor activity.

Required profile

• Proven ability to develop channels and manage distributor networks.
• Strong market execution skills to achieve profitable growth.
• Experience in the home‑improvement or hardware retail sector.
