Architect – Holistic & Bioclimatic Design

About the role

Unitary, an experimental architectural studio in Auroville, is looking for a full‑time Architect to join its on‑site team in Puducherry. You will work at the intersection of design, research, and education, contributing to projects that blend materiality, phenomenology, and bioclimatic principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural concepts and translate them into detailed, buildable drawings.
• Prepare design documentation and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project phases.
• Conduct site studies, material research, and bioclimatic analysis to ensure sustainable outcomes.
• Engage with clients, consultants, and contractors to review designs and oversee execution.
• Maintain design integrity and quality while managing timelines and budgets.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility to work in Puducherry.
• Strong foundation in architectural design and ability to move from concept to construction.
• Interest in bioclimatic design, sustainable materials, and phenomenological approaches.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools.
