Applied AI Architect

About the role

The AI Architect team partners with organizations to turn OpenAI's most capable models into real‑world impact. As an Applied AI Architect you will act as the technical CTO for a portfolio of customers, shaping AI strategy, guiding deployments and delivering measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor and long‑term relationship owner for a named portfolio of existing customers and pre‑sales prospects.
• Partner with Account Directors to own the technical account plan, milestones, adoption priorities and expansion opportunities.
• Develop clear Applied AI architectures covering models, data integration, security, privacy, governance and deployment.
• Lead discovery, workshops, prototypes and proofs of value to secure confidence in solutions and production pathways.
• Track adoption, usage, account health and intervene early when risks threaten value realization.

Required profile

• Significant experience in customer‑facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, technical account leadership or AI deployment.
• Proven ability to guide enterprise organizations from technical evaluation through production adoption and measurable impact.
• Strong credibility with senior technical and business leaders and the ability to communicate with hands‑on engineers.
• Deep understanding of modern AI systems, frontier LLMs, agentic applications and enterprise AI workflows.
