Application Support Analyst

About the role

Barclays is looking for an Application Support Analyst to monitor and maintain critical technology infrastructure, resolve complex technical issues and minimise operational disruption. The role is based in the Pune office and focuses on delivering high‑quality support for banking applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for service‑management functions, handling complex incidents for multiple client groups.
• Develop and improve support models and service offerings to enhance customer experience.
• Execute preventative maintenance on hardware and software, leveraging monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues.
• Maintain a detailed knowledge base documenting resolved cases for future reference and self‑service.
• Analyse system logs, error messages and user reports to pinpoint root causes and implement fixes or configuration changes.
• Drive automation, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity and front‑office specific support while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Identify, raise and remediate service‑impacting risks through established processes.
• Continuously tune monitoring thresholds and alerts to ensure timely issue detection.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Unix and SQL.
• Practical experience with aPaaS platforms and AWS Cloud.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as ITRS, AppDynamics and ELK.
• Proven production support experience with a solid understanding of ITSM processes.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Exposure to the payments domain (valued).
• Basic working knowledge of Salesforce (valued).
• Foundational understanding of generative AI concepts (valued).
