Android Kotlin UI Engineer – Android Automotive

About the role

HARMAN Automotive is looking for an experienced Android UI Developer to lead the creation of sophisticated user interfaces for Android Automotive OS applications. You will work with cutting‑edge technologies, drive UI best practices, and collaborate closely with design and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of complex UI components for Android Automotive OS applications using Jetpack Compose.
• Drive adoption of the MVVM architectural pattern and enforce best practices across the UI team.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, UI architects and product owners to ensure technical feasibility and optimal user experience.
• Design and implement unit and UI testing strategies with JUnit, Espresso and Compose testing frameworks.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and UI/UX issues.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of professional Android application development experience.
• Strong expertise in UI development with Jetpack Compose.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, including Coroutines and modern language features.
• Experience with Android Jetpack components such as ViewModel and StateFlow/SharedFlow.
• Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive UI tests.
• Problem‑solving mindset and analytical thinking.
