Altiris Administrator

About the role

TCS is seeking an experienced Altiris Administrator to lead end‑user device management initiatives in its Trivandrum office. The role focuses on deploying, maintaining, and optimizing the Symantec Altiris environment to ensure a stable and compliant desktop ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Altiris end‑user device management system, including patch and image management.
• Prepare patch compliance reports and troubleshoot deployment failures.
• Leverage existing staging methods and build, test, and deploy master images.
• Perform lifecycle management of the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) image.
• Update Group Policy Objects (GPOs) related to end‑user computing devices.
• Distribute vendor OS updates using policy controls to maintain the SOE.
• Document build and deployment procedures.
• Support Windows migration activities and resolve OS/software issues.
• Train technicians on deployment and provisioning solutions.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Degree in BE/B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc. or MS with at least 3 years of post‑qualification IT experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Must have experience with Symantec Altiris deployment, inventory, packaging and update activities.
• Good‑to‑have experience with SCCM, Microsoft 365, application packaging and EUC.
