Airport Fire Fighter – Emergency Response & Safety

About the role

The Airport Fire Fighter is responsible for immediate response to fire and life‑safety emergencies across terminals, buildings and aircraft at IGI Airport. The role includes rescue operations, fire‑equipment maintenance, patrols, inspections and first‑aid assistance to protect passengers, staff and airport infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire emergencies in aircraft, terminals and buildings, conduct rescues and guide passengers to safety.
• Provide medical first aid during emergencies.
• Maintain operational readiness of firefighting equipment, perform cleaning, hydraulic testing, painting and refilling of extinguishers.
• Drive and upkeep light‑weight utility and operational vehicles.
• Patrol airport terminals and buildings, inspect fire‑protection and detection systems, and update checklists.
• Coordinate with airside operations, security, medical services and airline representatives during incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum education: 10+2 with science subjects.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in high‑stress emergency situations.

Required skills

• Operation of firefighting equipment and appliances.
• Hydraulic testing and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
• Driving and maintenance of light‑weight utility vehicles.
• First‑aid and basic medical assistance.
