Airport Baggage Screener

About the role

The Airport Baggage Screener ensures safe and efficient screening of hold baggage, complying with aviation security regulations and detecting prohibited items or threats. The role involves operating advanced screening equipment, documenting findings, and interacting with passengers and security staff to uphold the highest security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate X‑BIS, ETD, and CT‑EDS equipment to detect dangerous goods, weapons, and prohibited articles.
• Perform physical inspections and ETD tests on baggage flagged by X‑ray screening.
• Maintain high Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores to demonstrate strong image interpretation.
• Follow BCAS and DGCA guidelines, record all findings, and meet audit requirements.
• Conduct routine pre‑operational checks of screening equipment and report malfunctions.
• Collaborate with CISF and airline staff during inspections and provide timely updates to supervisors.
• Manage time efficiently to ensure smooth baggage flow.

Required profile

• Completion of all regulatory training and certifications as required by aviation authorities.
• Ability to operate and interpret results from X‑BIS, ETD, and CT‑EDS systems.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to security protocols.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with security teams and airline personnel.
• Capability to maintain accurate documentation and equipment logs.
