Air Logistics Gateway Operations Specialist – Export

About the role

As a member of Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team, you will manage the end‑to‑end export gateway operations for a busy air logistics hub. You will optimise cargo flows, utilise fixed and spot capacity, and ensure service level agreements are met while supporting the movement of diverse goods worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage 300–400 tons/month of export gateway operations, coordinating inbound and outbound freight movements.
• Optimise capacity utilisation and cargo flow in line with carrier guidelines and SLAs.
• Drive yield improvement through space utilisation, consolidation and efficiency initiatives.
• Negotiate spot pricing and procure additional capacity with carriers as needed.
• Ensure compliance with carrier, security and safety regulations.
• Leverage automation, standardisation and process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, CCL, OCC, Sales, global and X‑Community teams.
• Contribute to global gateway network projects, share best practices and support business implementations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in air export or gateway operations.
• Strong exposure to carrier management, capacity planning and consolidation.
• Proven track record of delivering operational impact in high‑volume environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑shipment‑volume settings.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of MS Office tools.
