Aerodynamics Engineer – Aircraft Design

About the role

Airbus India is seeking an innovative Aerodynamics Engineer to join its Flight Physics Department in Bangalore. You will work on the design and analysis of next‑generation aircraft aerodynamics, contributing to the development of sustainable aviation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design aerodynamic shapes for new aircraft concepts.
• Determine aerodynamic characteristics using CFD, wind‑tunnel, and flight‑test data.
• Validate numerical results against experimental data.
• Ensure aerodynamic specifications are met through integrated technology development.
• Support all aircraft design phases from R&T to in‑service improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or PhD).
• 2+ years of experience in external aerodynamics (low‑speed and transonic).
• Strong background in CFD tool chains for external flow.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, preferably CATIA.
• Basic programming skills in Python or MATLAB.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.
