Accountant – Tally & GST (3-4 yrs experience)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant with 3‑4 years of hands‑on expertise in Tally ERP/Tally Prime and GST compliance to join our finance team in Chennai. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting, purchase processing, and supporting monthly close and reporting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting records using Tally ERP/Tally Prime.
• Record and verify purchase and sales invoices, expenses, receipts and payments.
• Handle purchase accounting, vendor ledger entries and accounts payable.
• Perform bank, vendor and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain GST documentation, assist in filing GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B and reconciling GSTR‑2B.
• Verify GSTIN, tax rates, HSN/SAC codes and ITC eligibility.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve invoice and GST discrepancies.
• Support monthly closing, accounting reports and audit documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance.
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Tally ERP / Tally Prime.
• GST compliance (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B, GSTR‑2B, ITC reconciliation).
• Purchase accounting and vendor reconciliation.
• Microsoft Excel.
