Accessory Designer – Beauty & Lifestyle

About the role

MARS Cosmetics is seeking a creative Accessory Designer to lead the design and development of non‑product accessories such as pouches, gift‑with‑purchase kits, secondary packaging, PR mailers, influencer kits, and retail counter accessories. You will own the full lifecycle from concept through bulk production, ensuring each piece aligns with brand standards and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Translate marketing and brand briefs into manufacturable designs, including sketches, CAD files, and detailed tech packs.
• Source and specify materials (PU, PVC, canvas, nylon, RPET, paperboard, EVA, etc.) and finishes.
• Manage vendor relationships in India and China, overseeing sampling, fit checks, lab dips, print proofs, and final approvals.
• Cost‑engineer designs to meet per‑unit landed cost targets without compromising aesthetics.
• Coordinate with marketing, packaging, procurement, and quality control teams to align timelines with launch dates.
• Monitor trends in beauty accessories, GWP formats, and unboxing experiences.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience designing soft goods, packaging, or accessories in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle sectors.
• Hands‑on experience reading and negotiating tech packs, material specifications, and sample quality.
• Strong understanding of printing, embossing, foiling, RF welding, and basic injection moulding processes.
• Cost‑aware mindset with ability to justify pricing differences.
