Welding Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead our welding manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity and on‑time delivery while managing shop‑floor activities and a team of welders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily welding activities to meet production schedules and targets.
• Allocate manpower, machines, fixtures, materials and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, welder qualifications and quality standards.
• Supervise welding processes (GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, SMAW, FCAW) and monitor weld quality, NDT/inspection and RT film review.
• Lead root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and defect‑reduction initiatives.
• Maintain HSE compliance, PPE usage and safe welding practices.
• Develop welders, operators and team leaders; drive 5S, Kaizen and Lean improvements.
• Track KPIs such as productivity, OEE, utilization, rework and first‑pass yield.
• Coordinate with Quality, Planning, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams.
• Maintain welding equipment, fixtures and tools; prepare production reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Welding Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of welding manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience in heavy engineering, fabrication, oil & gas or industrial manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong leadership, manpower planning, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• MIG, TIG, SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
• Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) knowledge.
• Welder qualification and Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) expertise, including RT film review.
• Root Cause Analysis and corrective‑action implementation.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) methodologies.
