Web Development Specialist – WordPress & Drupal

About the role

Sovos is looking for a Web Development Specialist to design, build, and optimise scalable web platforms within WordPress and Drupal ecosystems. You will combine deep CMS expertise with modern front‑end development to deliver high‑performing, data‑driven digital experiences for our global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and ongoing maintenance of WordPress and Drupal sites, including custom themes, modules and plugins.
• Build modern front‑end components using JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, preferably with React.
• Implement and manage analytics tracking frameworks such as Google Tag Manager and GA4.
• Design and maintain integrations with third‑party systems (CRM, marketing automation, design systems) via REST APIs, webhooks and headless CMS approaches.
• Optimise websites for Core Web Vitals, SEO and accessibility standards.
• Define and enforce best practices for code quality, security and scalability.
• Collaborate with marketing, analytics and design teams to deliver business‑aligned solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience developing with WordPress and/or Drupal.
• Strong proficiency in PHP (object‑oriented) and deep understanding of CMS architecture.
• Solid experience with modern JavaScript, TypeScript and front‑end frameworks.
• Proven ability to implement analytics, SEO and performance optimisation.
• Excellent collaboration skills and a mindset of continuous learning.
