Web Development Specialist – Digital Engineering & MarTech

About the role

Sovos is looking for a Web Development Specialist to join its Digital Engineering & MarTech team. You will build and maintain high‑performing digital platforms that support the company’s global tax compliance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of WordPress and Drupal sites, including custom themes, modules and plugins.
• Build modern, scalable front‑end components using JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript and optionally React.
• Design and maintain REST APIs, webhooks and headless/decoupled CMS architectures.
• Optimize websites for Core Web Vitals, SEO and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with marketing, analytics and design teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Implement and manage analytics frameworks such as GTM and GA4.
• Design integrations with CRM and marketing automation platforms.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Define best practices for code quality, security and scalability, and maintain documentation for release processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience with WordPress and/or Drupal.
• Strong PHP (object‑oriented) and CMS architecture knowledge.
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS; React is a plus.
• Experience with REST APIs, headless CMS, MySQL optimization, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of performance and security best practices (Core Web Vitals, caching, CDN, secure coding).
• Familiarity with GTM, GA4, DataLayer and integrations with Salesforce, Marketo or HubSpot.
