Web Development Specialist – Digital Engineering & MarTech

About the role

Sovos is seeking a Web Development Specialist to lead the creation and maintenance of high‑performing digital platforms that support its global tax compliance solutions. You will combine deep CMS expertise with modern frontend development and marketing technology integration to deliver seamless, data‑driven experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and upkeep of WordPress and Drupal sites, including custom themes, modules, and plugins.
• Build modern, scalable frontend components using JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Design and maintain REST APIs, webhooks, and headless/decoupled CMS architectures.
• Optimize websites for Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with marketing, analytics, and design teams to implement tracking solutions (GTM, GA4) and integrate CRM/marketing automation platforms.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
• Define and enforce best practices for code quality, security, scalability, and documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of professional experience with WordPress and/or Drupal.
• Strong understanding of PHP object‑oriented programming and CMS architecture.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with marketing, analytics, and design stakeholders.
• Experience delivering enterprise‑grade, high‑availability web solutions.
