Waiter – Guest Service Specialist

About the role

IKAYI, a modern Indian restaurant with rooftop sunset views, is looking for a friendly and attentive Waiter to join its team. You will be the face of the restaurant, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience through excellent service and a keen eye for detail.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and provide a warm, professional service experience.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, using POS systems or manual methods, and serve promptly.
• Offer menu recommendations, explain specials, and upsell when appropriate.
• Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen and verify correct delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, side stations, and dining areas in line with hygiene standards.
• Manage stock and supplies in assigned areas, minimizing waste.
• Check guest identification for alcoholic beverages and comply with regulations.
• Report maintenance issues, low supplies, safety hazards, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene policies, using protective equipment and safe work practices.
• Support fellow team members and perform additional duties as needed.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage offerings and service practices.
• Clear, professional communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
