Unit HR Head

About the role

We are seeking a Unit HR Head to lead human resources and industrial relations activities at a brewery level. The role focuses on creating a harmonious work environment through effective employee engagement, statutory compliance, and collaboration with senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment and staffing for the brewery, optimizing costs and coordinating with head office.
• Conduct inductions for freshers and lateral hires.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports, presentations, and performance appraisal documentation.
• Ensure annual appraisals and goal‑setting processes are completed on schedule.
• Maintain statutory compliance with labour laws, factory regulations, and related statutes, aiming for zero compliance violations.
• Liaise with labour offices, factory inspectors, PF department, labour welfare boards, municipal authorities, police, and other statutory bodies.
• Conduct monthly meetings with employee representatives to foster harmonious industrial relations.
• Resolve grievances and negotiate long‑term wage settlements linked to productivity within budget constraints.
• Negotiate and manage contracts for labour, canteen, housekeeping, and ETP services.
• Participate in safety initiatives to achieve a zero‑incident work environment.
• Lead corporate social responsibility activities at the brewery level.
• Drive productivity enhancement projects in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
• Prepare and control personnel budgets, variable costs, and related financial metrics.

Required profile

• Proven experience in recruitment, staffing, and onboarding at an industrial or brewery setting.
• Strong knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliance requirements, and experience liaising with regulatory bodies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage industrial relations, conduct grievance resolution, and negotiate labour contracts.
• Experience overseeing performance appraisal cycles, goal setting, and annual reviews.
• Capability to prepare and manage HR budgets, variable costs, and related financial controls.
• Familiarity with safety standards and corporate social responsibility initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
