Transportation Planning Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer to support the development and maintenance of comprehensive transportation and land‑use plans for communities. The role involves interpreting regulations, liaising with stakeholders, and producing technical reports that guide public improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply government codes, ordinances, and regulations.
• Assist with updates and maintenance of Comprehensive Plans, transportation plans, and land‑development regulations.
• Act as liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers, and elected officials.
• Review development applications, plats, permits, site plans, variance requests, and rezonings.
• Conduct extensive research and write formal technical reports and correspondence.
• Identify community problems and develop long‑range plans and strategies for economic and land‑use development.
• Evaluate adequacy of community facilities and recommend priorities, schedules, and funding sources for public improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transport Planning.
• Mandate with EC/GDC experience.
• Proficiency with SATURN software is required.
