Test Architect – Energy Systems & Grid Integration

About the role

The Test Architect will define and drive the end‑to‑end test strategy and architecture for SPAN’s intelligent energy systems, covering hardware, firmware, cloud and mobile components. This senior individual contributor role works across India and US teams to raise release confidence and reduce field defects.

Key responsibilities

• Define end‑to‑end validation strategy for SPAN Panel, SPAN Drive, battery systems and grid interactions.
• Build system‑level test architecture spanning App ↔ Cloud ↔ Hardware ↔ Grid, mixing manual, automation and HIL/SIL.
• Apply risk‑based testing for safety‑critical power systems and ensure coverage of corner cases.
• Lead validation of energy flows, outages, failover, backup scenarios and interoperability with inverters, batteries and EVSEs.
• Architect scalable HIL environments with simulators and emulators and standardise lab procedures across India and US.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and enforce quality gates.
• Define and track coverage metrics, defect leakage, pass rate, MTTR and MTTD.
• Standardise dashboards in JIRA and TestRail to ensure traceability from requirements to defects.

Required profile

• Analytical, system‑level thinking with superb debugging and clear stakeholder communication.
• Ownership, bias for action and strong collaboration across US and India teams.
