Technical Store Officer – Inventory & SAP Management

About the role

The Technical Store Officer is responsible for managing the inventory of critical parts and spare components that keep factory operations running smoothly. This role oversees procurement, stock control, and the use of SAP systems to ensure accurate, timely material movements and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, procure, and maintain inventory of key engineering parts and spares.
• Operate SAP S/4HANA or SAP Ariba for all store transactions, including creating purchase orders and posting goods receipts (MIGO).
• Generate inventory and consumption reports to support production planning.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the engineering workshop and procurement/supply‑chain teams.
• Coordinate with vendors to secure timely delivery of critical spares.
• Maintain accurate stock records, monitor reorder levels, and track shelf‑life of items.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in engineering store management, spare‑parts inventory control, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or SAP Ariba, including purchase order creation and MIGO processing.
• Understanding of inventory management principles such as reorder levels, min‑max planning, and classification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, procurement, and finance teams.
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a qualification in Supply Chain/Procurement (equivalent experience accepted).
• Strong documentation discipline and attention to detail.
