Team Lead, Operations – Middle Mile

About the role

Amazon is looking for a motivated, customer‑obsessed Team Lead to join its Middle Mile Sort Center operations. In this hands‑on, floor‑based role you will lead a team of 30‑80+ associates, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑quality sortation from inbound dock to outbound dispatch while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan each shift by reviewing staffing, attending leadership meetings, completing area readiness checks and aligning on volume, CPT and bagging plans.
• Lead the start‑of‑shift briefing, verify headcount and system logins, and ensure associates are scanning within the required timeframes.
• Drive throughput (TPH) across inbound, sort and outbound processes, manage CPT priorities and monitor quality metrics such as scan compliance and defect rates.
• Conduct safety audits, enforce PPE and ergonomic standards, and lead incident response and yard‑safety initiatives.
• Engage directly with associates on the floor, provide real‑time coaching, and manage labor movements and exceptions.
• Complete end‑of‑shift handover, document area readiness, participate in Kaizens and support defect‑reduction projects.

Required profile

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• At least 1 year of experience in a customer‑facing environment, warehousing, logistics or manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to work flexible, rotational shifts including nights, weekends and peak periods.
