Tax Manager – Accounting & Tax Services

About the role

Porter, Muirhead, Cornia & Howard (PMCH) is looking for a Tax Manager to lead tax compliance and advisory services for a broad portfolio of individuals, businesses, and nonprofit clients. You will work closely with senior staff to ensure accurate reporting, audit readiness, and strategic tax planning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic auditing procedures, including cash, investments, payables, fixed assets, debt, and compliance reviews.
• Prepare financial statements using appropriate accounting software.
• Develop workpapers with tick marks, cross‑referencing, and detailed memos documenting audit procedures.
• Prepare individual and entity tax returns and ensure timely filing.
• Complete audit programs, checklists, and workpapers efficiently without over‑auditing.
• Review internal controls, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements.
• Draft audit letters and management‑letter comments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam or progress toward CPA certification.
• Prior internship or relevant experience is highly desirable.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Required skills

• Proficiency with general‑ledger accounting software.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
