Tax Consultant

About the role

We are seeking Tax Consultants to join our direct tax practice in India. The positions are available in Delhi and Mumbai and cover a range of experience levels, offering the opportunity to work on complex tax advisory and transaction projects for corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on Indian direct and indirect tax implications related to business operations, cross‑border transactions, restructurings and day‑to‑day commercial arrangements.
• Analyse taxability of cross‑border payments, including withholding tax, permanent establishment, place of effective management, transfer pricing and tax treaty interpretation.
• Assist clients in designing tax‑efficient business models, entry structures, supply‑chain planning and operational tax risk management.
• Prepare legal opinions, tax memoranda, technical notes, alerts and client updates on tax law and policy developments.
• Support domestic and cross‑border M&A, private equity, venture capital, joint‑venture and internal reorganisation transactions from a tax perspective.
• Conduct vendor and buy‑side tax due diligence, review transaction documents and advise on acquisition structures, divestments, share or asset transfers, mergers, demergers and capital reduction exercises.
• Assist in post‑closing integration, tax registrations and transition support where required.

Required profile

• Open to candidates at various experience levels across direct tax.
• Strong knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax regulations.
• Experience with cross‑border tax issues and transaction support.
