System Administrator

About the role

The System Administrator will maintain the network and hardware infrastructure of Emertxe, supporting internal software configuration, build and integration activities. The role requires hands‑on Linux experience and responsibility for both Linux and Windows environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all systems and network hardware such as laptops, desktops, servers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls and biometric devices.
• Install, configure and maintain firewalls, routers, network switches, PBX and troubleshoot Wi‑Fi, network and internet connectivity issues.
• Install and maintain Linux/Windows operating systems, applications, productivity tools, security patches, drivers and firmware updates, providing remote desktop support.
• Administer Active Directory, user and group accounts, DNS, DHCP, web servers, file backups, sharing and security permissions, and monitor performance.
• Procure devices from local markets or online stores and resolve issues with internet, systems, devices and network providers by interfacing with vendors.
• Create and maintain system and network documentation, policies, standard operating procedures and an inventory of devices.

Required profile

• Hardware support for desktops, laptops, printers and network devices.
• OS administration and support for Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows.
• Software management and support, including email and business productivity applications.
• Virtual machine configuration and installation.
• Resourcefulness, problem‑solving aptitude and good communication skills.
