Structures In-Service Engineer

About the role

The Structures In-Service Engineer provides expert technical support for aircraft structures in operational service. You will interact with customers, internal engineering teams and suppliers to resolve structural queries and ensure safe, reliable aircraft operation.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer queries on aircraft structures, using tools and documentation to deliver accurate information.
• Act as dispatcher for queries across Airbus India support divisions and coordinate corrective actions.
• Analyze in‑service issues to assess airworthiness, reliability and cost impacts, and drive root‑cause investigations.
• Transfer in‑service experience and maintenance data to design, customer‑service and vendor teams.
• Liaise with Fatigue & Damage Tolerance, Design and other Airbus departments to define optimal maintenance programmes.
• Review safety‑related incidents, perform risk assessments and support the chief engineer’s office.
• Evaluate concessions for in‑service aircraft and approve extensions to service life.

Required profile

• B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 6 years of aerospace experience.
• Strong understanding of aircraft structural design principles and fatigue/damage tolerance concepts.
• Knowledge of aircraft structural maintenance and repair manuals and airline operations.
• Excellent communication, decision‑making and interpersonal skills, with a service‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work flexibly within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
