Strategic Sourcing Professional

About the role

IBM is looking for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Professional to join its Global Procurement team. You will work directly with IBM Procurement Services and external clients, driving sourcing initiatives, competitive bid events, and category strategies across multiple commodities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead competitive bid events such as RFPs, RFQs, RFI, and reverse auctions.
• Analyze client spend data to develop category strategies, identify savings, and measure compliance.
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to achieve cost reductions and value creation.
• Collaborate with Category Managers and Global Category Leaders to define and implement sourcing projects.
• Track savings, maintain audit evidence, and report supplier performance.
• Support clients in redirecting spend through strategic contracts and automated channels.
• Ensure alignment with IBM business conduct guidelines and global procurement processes.

Required profile

• 10‑12+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or commercial procurement.
• Proven track record of managing end‑to‑end sourcing projects for external clients.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and client data.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities across all organizational levels.
• Experience working in a global, multi‑geography environment.
