Stores Assistant

About the role

The Stores Assistant is responsible for end‑to‑end store and inventory management, ensuring that materials are received, stored, labelled, retrieved and dispatched accurately according to user requirements. The role also supports procurement of general items and maintains precise inventory records to prevent stock‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify incoming materials, record quantities and specifications.
• Organise batch‑wise stacking, control physical stocks, and resolve batch mismatches.
• Plan and coordinate secondary transportation to deliver materials to end users.
• Monitor stock levels through regular stock‑taking and manage expiry tracking and disposal.
• Maintain a traceable inventory location system using barcoding and other identification methods.
• Update SAP, ELN and other ERP modules to keep inventory data accurate.
• Handle customer queries and complaints related to product delivery.
• Prepare MIS dashboards and support audit and compliance activities.
• Manage administrative expenses and assist finance with store‑related accounting tasks.

Required profile

• Attention to detail with strong record‑keeping abilities.
• Good understanding of safety procedures for chemical storage.
• Ability to work collaboratively with transport vendors, logistics teams and internal users.
• Basic knowledge of procurement processes for general store items.
