Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to join a high‑caliber software engineering team building impactful healthcare technology. You will own the technical strategy and delivery of Cohere Health’s core data and AI platforms, driving reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Drive platform reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency across all environments.
• Provide technical leadership for platform components, influencing architecture from CI/CD pipelines to observability and incident response.
• Design and implement reusable integration patterns that reduce custom development and support multiple healthcare systems.
• Partner with Architecture, DevOps, SRE, and Security teams to deliver cohesive platform solutions.
• Collaborate with product teams and solutions architects to ensure the platform meets current and future business requirements.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and platform incidents.
• Establish frameworks for AI governance, system observability, and decision traceability while ensuring enterprise‑grade security and auditability.
• Ensure all platform components comply with healthcare security and privacy regulations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of software platform and infrastructure engineering experience, including 2+ years at Staff or Principal level.
• Deep expertise in AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation/Terraform, IAM, networking, and security controls.
• Strong hands‑on experience with containerization and designing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) and GitOps workflows.
• Production‑ownership mindset with experience in SRE practices (SLOs/SLIs, incident management, runbooks, post‑mortems).
• Expertise in observability stacks like Datadog, CloudWatch, ELK/Kibana.
• Solid understanding of security engineering principles, including secrets management, zero‑trust networking, Okta, and encryption at rest/in‑transit.
• Experience designing platforms for data processing, data warehousing, and integrated ML tooling.
• Strong communicator able to work cross‑functionally with product, operations, and architecture teams.
