About the role
Black & Veatch is seeking a Staff Engineer specialized in piping stress to join its Mumbai office. The role involves applying advanced engineering techniques to complex piping systems across oil & gas, FLNG, and power generation projects.
Key responsibilities
- Perform CAESAR II modelling and stress analysis for various piping systems.
- Evaluate pipe flexibility, support settlement, safety relief valves, seismic, slug, thermal cycle, and wind loads.
- Select appropriate springs and design supports for jacketed, FRP, and expansion‑joint piping.
- Analyse modular design effects during fabrication, lift, transit, and site installation.
- Assess stress, displacement, forces, moments, and nozzle loads, including WRC flexibilities.
- Conduct dynamic analyses such as modal, harmonic, and response spectrum studies.
- Prepare data sheets for expansion joints, spring hangers, and update pipe support standards.
- Produce comprehensive stress analysis reports.
Required profile
- Engineering degree in Mechanical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas, onshore/offshore, FLNG, or power generation.
- At least 3 years of offshore or FLNG project experience.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements.
Required skills
- CAESAR II software.
- Autopipe.
- Navisworks.
- NozzlePro.
- Knowledge of ASME, API, IBR piping codes and standards.
- Piping stress and dynamic analysis techniques.
