Staff Engineer - Data Path

About the role

DDN is looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Data Ocean team in Pune, developing high‑performance data‑path software for next‑generation AI and enterprise storage platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑performance data‑path components, including intelligent caching and metadata management.
• Build scalable services for data movement across object, file, and block storage environments.
• Optimize transfer pipelines for throughput, latency, scalability, and reliability.
• Debug, profile, and tune large‑scale storage workloads on Linux.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, and release teams to deliver production‑grade software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience developing systems or storage software.
• Strong expertise in C/C++ and Linux systems programming.
• Proven experience with multithreaded, concurrent software and performance tuning.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.

• Multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization.
• Performance profiling and optimization.
• Storage systems concepts, object storage APIs (S3).
• Debugging complex distributed systems.
