Sr. Data Engineer

About the role

Five9 is building a Customer Data Platform to unify customer data across products and services. As a Senior Data Engineer you will design, implement, and scale the data foundation that powers real‑time analytics, personalization, and actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Five9’s Customer Data Platform solutions and enable production use cases for customers.
• Develop highly scalable and resilient services for ingesting large‑scale datasets.
• Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, observability, and system reliability.
• Build and orchestrate ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Airflow.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners and lead technical initiatives end‑to‑end.
• Design, build, and optimise distributed query engines such as Apache Spark or Snowflake.
• Write, review, and provide feedback on technical design proposals.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of software/data engineering and data platform experience.
• Deep knowledge of Snowflake for data warehousing, including optimisation, security and cost management.
• Strong understanding of data streaming technologies such as Kafka/Kafka Connect.
• Proficiency in object‑oriented or functional programming languages (Java.NET, Python, SQL).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
