Specialist – Product Development – Electronics

About the role

3M is seeking a Specialist in Product Development for Electronics to lead a multidisciplinary team that creates advanced materials for electronic components and assemblies. The role blends people leadership with hands‑on technical work, driving innovation from concept through commercialization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Product Development Engineers and Scientists.
• Set clear objectives, performance expectations and development plans for team members.
• Allocate technical resources across multiple product development priorities.
• Foster a collaborative, high‑performance R&D culture focused on scientific excellence and customer impact.
• Ensure laboratory safety, quality standards and compliance are maintained.
• Personally lead complex product development projects, including design, formulation, testing, troubleshooting, scale‑up and commercialization.
• Develop new materials and enhance existing products for electronics applications such as bonding, shielding, grounding, displays, interconnects and thermal management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading technical teams in an R&D environment.
• Deep expertise in materials science applied to electronics.
• Hands‑on involvement in product development, testing and scale‑up activities.
• Ability to collaborate with global R&D, manufacturing, quality, marketing and commercial teams.
