Specialist - Indirect Tax

About the role

Maersk is seeking an Indirect Tax Specialist to manage process execution, data management and compliance delivery for indirect taxes across its Africa region entities. The role ensures accurate, timely tax filings and supports continuous improvement in a data‑driven, digitised environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare indirect tax returns and supporting workpapers to meet jurisdictional filing deadlines.
• Collect, process, analyse and reconcile data related to indirect tax returns and payments.
• Maintain evidence for tax filing positions and future audits.
• Identify and drive process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency of tax functions.
• Support audit requirements for assigned jurisdictions and ensure audit readiness.
• Contribute to finance transformation and tax‑related projects.
• Prepare reports, reconciliations and respond to information requests from management, tax authorities and auditors.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Semi‑qualified Chartered Accountant or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Taxation, MBA or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in indirect tax compliance and reporting.
