Software Test Engineer – Wi‑Fi

About the role

Arista Networks is expanding its campus Wi‑Fi portfolio and is looking for a hands‑on Software Test Engineer to join the Chennai team. You will work closely with software, hardware and field support engineers to validate Wi‑Fi solutions against customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Understand Arista Wi‑Fi cloud architecture, components and related products.
• Collaborate with development and test teams to gather requirements, review specifications and validate product functionality.
• Own feature testing, act as subject‑matter expert and be first point of contact for field escalations.
• Reproduce and debug customer issues in lab environments, coordinating with TAC, SysTest and development teams.
• Design, deploy and maintain large‑scale Wi‑Fi labs that emulate customer deployments.
• Perform end‑to‑end testing of wired and wireless solutions, including inter‑op testing with enterprise clients and custom equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, IT or related field.
• 5–15 years of experience troubleshooting wired or wireless networks and debugging complex software.
• Hands‑on experience with Wi‑Fi 7, Wi‑Fi 6E, Wi‑Fi 6 Enterprise AP features and RF/L1 intricacies.
• Proven ability to design and operate Wi‑Fi labs at scale.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals across the OSI stack and Linux networking tools.
