Software Engineer – QA & Automation

About the role

The QA & Automation team at Alkira ensures every product release meets high quality standards. As a Software Engineer you will develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and work closely with engineers across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Work in a fast‑paced team to solve important customer problems.
• Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to understand testing requirements.
• Develop, execute and automate feature test plans to validate product capabilities.
• Design and develop the automation framework.
• Build and maintain automation scripts for continuous functional regression.
• Identify, report and resolve issues found during testing.
• Analyze customer‑found defects, close test gaps and ensure coverage in regression suites.
• Contribute to a culture of constant innovation and continuous improvement.
• Participate in product documentation reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in QA and automation roles.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and quick learning of new concepts.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• TCP/IP protocols (ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP).
• Networking protocols (BGP, VxLAN, IPSec, L3).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• RESTful APIs.
• Firewalls or SD‑WAN devices (plus).
• Virtualization technologies (QEMU/KVM, VMware ESXi, Docker).
• Network virtualization (SDN, overlay protocols, DPDK, VNF).
