Software Engineer III, Vehicle Intelligence

About the role

As a Software Engineer III you will join a cross‑functional agile team focused on operational tools, product, or infrastructure. You will collaborate with software and production engineers to design, build, and ship features that accelerate the growth of ACV Auctions and improve the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain code for web‑based applications, backend services, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate on scalable service architecture, feature roll‑out planning, and reliability/performance assurance.
• Conduct code reviews, produce high‑quality documentation, and create robust test suites.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional programming experience.
• Strong English communication skills (read, write, speak).
• Experience in an iterative environment with automated testing and continuous delivery.
• Background building RPC services (Thrift, gRPC, or equivalent).
• Hands‑on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
