Software Engineer II - Identity & Access Management

About the role

Join DigitalOcean's Customer Trust & Engineering team as a Software Engineer II focusing on Identity & Access Management. You will help build and maintain the identity platform that authorizes billions of transactions per second with low latency.

Key responsibilities

• Implement features and bug fixes for authentication and authorization services using Go.
• Develop and maintain OIDC and OAuth2 integrations, and lead OIDC and SAML federated SSO implementations.
• Evolve the policy engine with Rego/OPA to support advanced resource‑level permissions.
• Ensure service reliability by managing Kubernetes deployments and modernizing data pipelines.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in auth flows.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of software engineering experience delivering production services.
• Proficiency in Go or another typed systems language.
• Working knowledge of at least one identity protocol such as OIDC or OAuth2.
• Understanding of distributed systems, replication, latency trade‑offs and failure modes.
• Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes) and relational databases (MySQL).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to document work clearly.
