Software Engineer - Android Kotlin

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android UI Developer to join HARMAN Automotive’s in‑vehicle infotainment team. You will lead the design and implementation of complex user interfaces for Android Automotive OS applications using Jetpack Compose.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of complex UI components for Android Automotive OS.
• Drive adoption of the MVVM architectural pattern across the UI team.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, UI architects and product owners to ensure technical feasibility and optimal user experience.
• Design and implement unit and UI testing strategies using JUnit, Espresso and Compose testing.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and UI/UX issues.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of professional Android application development experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week.

Required skills

• Android development with a focus on UI.
• Jetpack Compose and its architecture.
• Android Jetpack components (ViewModel, StateFlow/SharedFlow).
• Kotlin programming, including Coroutines.
• MVVM architectural pattern.
• UI testing frameworks: JUnit, Espresso, Compose testing.
• Figma toolchain for UI asset extraction (optional).
