Software Engineer - Android

About the role

LinkedIn is looking for an Android Software Engineer to join the Career Hub team. You will create native mobile experiences that deliver skills intelligence, career pathing and AI‑powered learning to millions of professionals worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement user‑facing features for the LinkedIn Android app, handling multithreading, data persistence and graphics across diverse screen sizes.
• Utilize the latest Google‑recommended technologies and libraries to build responsive native Android applications.
• Leverage LinkedIn’s internal libraries to develop scalable mobile solutions.
• Make architectural trade‑offs using synchronous and asynchronous design patterns while maintaining speed and quality.
• Write high‑quality, unit‑tested code, participate in peer reviews and ensure regular integration.
• Provide technical leadership on large‑scale, cross‑functional programs and drive engineering productivity improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding.

Required skills

• Android development (Java and/or Kotlin).
• Android SDK and Google‑recommended libraries.
• Multithreading and asynchronous programming.
• Data persistence mechanisms.
• Responsive UI design for multiple screen sizes.
