Software Engineer - Android

About the role

We are looking for an Android Software Engineer to join CheQ’s fintech product team. You will create high‑performance mobile experiences that let users manage credit cards, rewards, loans and payments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, ensuring scalability, security and a smooth user journey.
• Build reusable UI components, integrate RESTful APIs and optimise app performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, QA and DevOps to turn requirements into production‑ready features.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code, participate in code reviews, debugging, CI/CD pipelines and release management.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, mobile best‑practice guidelines and own feature quality and reliability.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of professional Android development experience with strong Kotlin expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with Jetpack Compose, including state management, UI architecture, navigation and modern Android practices.
• Solid understanding of REST API integration, asynchronous programming, secure mobile development and the Android application lifecycle.
• Proven track record of building complex consumer‑facing apps with focus on performance, scalability and clean architecture.
• Exposure to fintech, B2C products, startups, Google Play releases, Java, animations or Material Design is a plus.
